LEARN 2D NEEDLE FELTING OCTOBER 14TH, 1PM - 5PM LARC 54/55 Hollybank Lawn, Clongowen, Kilkenny, R95 DD27 Using a photo or image, in this 1 day workshop (4 hours), you’ll learn how to use needle felting to create a 2D version of that image, either as a card or a picture to frame.  Needle felting is very versatile and allows you to create any kind of image using natural fibres like wool, silk, bamboo, yarn etc. Typically, we felt onto wool, an old blanket can be ideal, or wool felt. We will choose the backgrounds, colours and format you want and start to create from there.  Materials and tools provided including images to re-create but you can also bring along an image you like, of course. COST: €59 including materials and  tools, which  includes fibres, yarns, silks, felt or wool background, needles and felting base. You go home with a kit with needles, base, finger protectors etc,to carry on with and can purchase extra materials if you wish.  Spaces

LEARN TO USE YOUR SEWING MACHINE ST. PATRICK'S PARISH HALL LOUGHBOY KILKENNY Date:  Sept 28th, 7pm - 9pm €27.00 So many people have sewing machines gathering dust in their attics or spare rooms! Why not learn to use it?  Bring along your sewing machine and learn how to use it in this two hour class. You'll learn what the main functions are, how to thread it, how to wind bobbins, how to change stitch styles and how to look after it. Come along and learn how to make gorgeous butterflies using twigs, lollipop sticks (you can choose both if you like), with gorgeous natural yarns, beads, sparkles and lots of things to make them pretty. All materials are provided during this 2-hour workshop and children will go home with at least one butterfly, maybe more! They can make them large or small and have great fun being creative with yarn, glue, beads and buttons!
